Summer Zervos

Summer Zervos and Donald J. Trump: Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

Background of the Allegations
In October 2016, Summer Zervos, a former contestant on The Apprentice Season 5 (2006), accused Donald J. Trump of sexual misconduct. She claimed that in 2007, after seeking career advice, Trump invited her to the Beverly Hills Hotel under the guise of a job discussion. There, she alleges, he kissed her without consent, groped her breasts, and pressed his genitals against her despite her protests. At a press conference on October 14, 2016, with attorney Gloria Allred, Zervos described feeling “humiliated.”

Trump’s Denials and Legal Actions
Trump denied all allegations, calling them “100% false” and accusing Zervos of fabricating the story as a political attack during an October 2016 speech. His team pointed to emails Zervos sent after the alleged incident, seeking work from the Trump Organization, as evidence against her claims. These denials and narratives were echoed by his supporters on X in 2025.

In January 2017, Zervos filed a defamation lawsuit in New York Supreme Court, claiming Trump’s public denials damaged her reputation and business. In March 2018, a court rejected Trump’s claim of presidential immunity, allowing the case to move forward. After years of legal battles and appeals, Zervos dropped the lawsuit in November 2021, citing exhaustion.

Recent Developments and Ongoing Impact
With Trump’s second presidential term beginning in January 2025, Zervos revisited her story in a February 2025 interview, expressing frustration over renewed online attacks calling her “opportunistic.” She connected her experience to E. Jean Carroll’s 2023 legal victory, stating, “Dropping the case didn’t erase what happened.” Although not pursuing new legal action as of March 2025, Zervos hinted at supporting advocacy efforts if Trump’s post-inauguration statements continue to target accusers. Her allegations remain an important part of the ongoing discussion about Trump’s conduct.
